The Inaugural Post

Oh. Hello. Welcome to The Nuptial Notebook and since this is our first ever post, we figured we'd give you some insight as to who we are & why we've started The Nuptial Notebook.

We are two 27 year-olds (S1 & S2), from Montreal, Quebec and we work in pretty normal 9-5 jobs. Surely most of you will agree that somewhere in your 20's, you think to yourself, "Really?". Is this really my job? Is this really where I live? I was supposed to be (fill in child ambition here), living in (fill in awesome city and country here), making (fill in outlandish sum of money here)! S1 always thought she'd be a wedding planner. Maybe it was watching "A Wedding Story" on TLC and crying great big sobbing tears or maybe it's her love of making lists...no matter what the reason, it was always in the back of her mind. Then something awesome happened. She got engaged to the man of her dreams. She really and truly was able to plan a wedding and not just the secret stuff she was browsing before he actually asked her! S2 has a passion for weddings and planning and most importantly, crafts so it was just natural that when S2 got engaged, oh boy, we were knee deep in endless wedding possibilities.

You know what's tough? Not getting fired for constantly Googling wedding stuff. We have spent countless hours researching venues, dresses, centrepieces etc and what we've realized is that most, if not all, the resources out there are for the American bride. Despite our St Hubert Wedding Shopping District and lots of beautiful areas of Montreal, our selection is mundane and typical.

So you may have guessed by now why we started The Nuptial Notebook. We're going to show you how to plan a Montreal wedding that is uniquely you...and we're going to help you do it the easiest way possible. Oh. And we're doing it for free, a word that is omitted frequently in the wedding industry.
